the trend: puffer jackets

Puffer Jackets. They're pretty cool right? This is a trend I can get behind because I'm totally up for looking like the Michelin man when its 0 degrees outside - am I right? I bought my cropped puffer from UO and although I was probably way too excited when it arrived, the fact it took nearly two weeks to come (yes I did order it online, they didn't have it in store and I cannot bear going to shopping for frivolous purchases this close to Christmas, it's too busy) made me even more ecstatic.

The puffer jacket is definitely a trend I think is going to be around for a while, so many shades and so many different variations from almost every clothes shop you won't find it hard to pick up one that you like. Yes the trend will surpass once Winter is over but hopefully I can wear it in years to come. Luckily, I didn't spend an arm and a leg on it as well due to my UNIDAYS discount and shockingly for Urban it wasn't that expensive; but was the discount worth the two week wait?
My mum detests puffer jackets, only because she says they make her look like a marshmallow. I can't lie, this coat is a marmite trend. I can see how some people are against puffers, and I can also understand if you think you'll only wear this a week a year (if you don't want to get behind the trend there are other winter coat alternatives).
Pinterest is like a haven for how to style Puffer Jackets, although seeing as I bought mine in black I can pretty much wear it with anything. I've included a few photos from my Pinterest (@eleanorclaudie if ya wanna follow) and I think styling it with a skirt and lace top is just the cutest! I think it's such a perfect Winter coat as you can dress it up and down depending on where you're going.
If you don't know where to look for a puffer, I've left a few links below - the temptation to buy a red jacket is incredibly strong... I will resist (somehow).

Do you love puffer jackets as much as I do? I'm definitely going to be wearing mine for the foreseeable future (aka all of Christmas) Leave me a comment below :)

  1. I'm not exactly a fan of puffer jackets. I often feel like I'm drowning in them, or I look like a marshmellow (like your mum said, haha). I think it looks great on other people though, especially if it's styled well! I feel like this is the kind of item that needs a good sense of style though, which I don't really have. I've seen you in yours on instagram though, and it looks great!

  7. I'm not adverse to puffer jackets, I'm just slightly passive aggressive that I totally cannot pull one off haha. I like the trend though! I've gone a little coat crazy this winter, there just seems to be so many nice ones out there at the moment - I've got more on my wishlist too!
