A postcard from... Firenze

Ah Florence, I think you've stolen a little chunk of my heart. A gorgeous city visited with a great bunch of people and naturally I have to share the photos. If you hadn't already gathered from the posts I've written about Italy before, I absolutely adore the country. In the brief day I spent in Florence, I went to the Uffizi gallery (home to Botticelli's Birth of Venus), the Acadamia to see the statue of David and the Ponte Veccheio.

The Uffizi Gallery was filled to the brim with beautiful paintings and you couldn't help but be stunned by the art. Botticelli's Birth of Venus was equally as beautiful - I just stared at it for about five minutes. the cacophony of colour was gorgeous. Honestly, everywhere you turned there was a new sight to be in awe of, Florence was full of food, culture and art that I was simply stunned by. Naturally being in Italy I had to have some gelato, much to the disappointment of my friends I went for classic vanilla (and also cookies and cream, I'm not just a total bore) which was so delicious.
Okay I'm only uploading two pictures of the statue of David because whilst you could not fail to be stunned by the immense size of David, little David did also make an appearance as well... wait who said that?
So many memories were made on this trip to Italy, it was the last I'm going on with my school and there was something about the place and the people that made it so special. My postcard from Pisa will be up next Monday (there won't be a post on Thursday due to the mountain of school work I've been landed with in the past few weeks). Have you been to Florence before and if not do you want to go?

  12. Florence looks so beautiful! I really badly want to visit. Maybe I can bribe my Mom to come with me as she loved her trip there last year. The pictures she showed me where just as stunning as yours. I´ve been to Italy a few years back and I don´t think I´ve ever eaten ice cream or pasta made that well!
