nail polish picks

So, as a result of the EU referendum results on Friday (I wasn't able to vote but if I could I would've voted to stay) I should probably write about the issues surrounding the outcome and/or the impact of the result on the youth of the UK but here I am talking about nail varnishes... I feel there is so much anger and hate on social medias such as Twitter sometimes there is a need for a little miscellaneous reading - so here I am to discuss a few nail varnishes that I've been loving lately. (PS. I can write a post on the referendum if you'd like so if you would like one leave a comment below!)

I am a self confessed nail polish addict. Like I seriously love nail varnishes more than I love makeup (bold statement I know). I own way too many and just want to keep adding shades to my collection because trust me; there will be a shade that I need but do not own. Therefore, I have compiled my love of nail varnishes into one post so you can read just how much I love them.

Now I know almost all the nail varnishes are from Essie (that's a lie soz, all of them are from Essie) but I literally love their formula and the shades so much - if I didn't I wouldn't have them! I know a lot of people find that they chip easily but I really don't find that on me, even just one coat with a base can easily see me through the weekend (I can't have painted nails for school) with no chips.

I find it super hard to wear bright colours on my nails as I find they really just don't go with what I wear or they're just to garish for my liking. I would say the closest I've got to wearing a bright nail varnish is one of my Barry M pit stop polishes; I actually own one in yellow! But a shade I will wear no matter how bright it is is blue - I absolutely love the way it looks on my nails and Essie certainly know how to pull off a good blue nail polish. Cocktail bling is a gorgeous and a greener toned blue (in fact I have no idea how to describe this shade other than stunning) is Essie Maximillion Strasse - such a pretty colour and it is the shade that is currently on my nails right now.

Left to right - Cocktail bling, Maximillian Strasse, eternal optimist, in stitches
I was never really a pink person till around last summer when I bought a pink polish from Lottie London. It was a typical light pink shade and I absolutely love it (I did a full review if anyone wants to read). A polish that I've fallen in love with is  Eternal Optimist and I literally get so many compliments when I wear it - it goes with basically everything as well - it is such a gorgeous pink nude and I wear it so often! A recent buy is 'In Stitches' - a more mauvey pink. I absolutely love this nail varnish as well, it is so unique and I cannot stop staring at the photos of it whilst writing this post; I'm surprised I haven't got it on my nails now to be honest.

Those are my nail polish picks but what are yours? Let me know down below and I'll add them to my wishlist (not that I need any more nail varnishes but they're prettyyyyy).

  3. I only own one Essie polish in Shearling Darling, it's more suited for the autumn and winter so it's definitely not getting any love at the moment. My nail varnish collection is mainly made up of Barry M because they're so affordable but the quality of them is amazing! The fast drying ones are great.

  10. I love these colours, they're kinda more subtle and not bright.
I always go through phases of attempting to do my nails often but I always end up with chips and an uneven coat cause I can't paint my nails to save my life. I would love to get a coral colour for summer. I really like all of these shades though. It's nice to have little positive posts like this rather than negativity surrounding the referendum!

  11. As bold a statement as it might be, I'm completely sure I love nail polish way more than makeup! I find that Maybelline's are great, my favourite shade is Canal Street Coral, and it's quite bright but I love it. I honestly don't care: bright, dark, bring them all! Nail polish is definitely the beauty item I love the most and I can't get enough ^^ I've never tried Essie though, it's not big in Spain.
