bomber jackets - just a passing trend?

Blue Prom Dresses I actually love writing these posts, it's so fun to look back and see whether the trend lasted or whether it just fizzled out after a hype. The last 'passing trend' post I did was on lace up tops in October and it is definitely a trend that is still around now, I still see them everywhere!

Around this time last year I bought a bomber jacket from Gap in the sale - it was more lightweight than the ones from Topshop or Urban Outfitters so it's not really practical for the current weather situation, but I wore it so much in the warmer months! I love it so much and I didn't really see the point in buying another thicker one, even if I would be able to wear it when it's colder.

Recently I've seen them everywhere! As much as I love the trend it seems like everyone is wearing bomber jackets and it's become kind of unoriginal. It's not that I don't still love them but I don't always want to follow the trend (especially when EVERY shop I've been into lately sells them). I know bomber jackets were big in the 90s and that trend has definitely come back around! They're great to dress down a nice dress or just as an all round jacket and there are so many different styles around. Celebrities such as Kylie Jenner can be seen sporting some luxe bomber jackets and blogger Samantha Marie has an absolutely gorgeous one from Topshop so they're totally on trend even though the lusted jacket has been around for a while already.

The verdict: I think bomber jackets are going to stay around for a while and just slowly fizzle out - they're so popular I don't think they're disappearing any time soon! Do you think bomber jackets are here to stay or are they just a passing trend?

  1. Ii want the topshop bomber jacket so bad, but my partner has threatened to split up with me if I do haha. Ive seen Lydia Millen in a nude one though that looks lovely, I may have to convince him that its not a bomber... lol x

  3. I've got 2 in my wardrobe aha! But what I'm *really* after is a proper authentic Souvenir Jacket (either Japanese or Korean), but they're SO expensive that it makes the Topshop one look cheap. I think they'll be around for a while too until the next 'it' jacket gets a makeover, which I'm kinda glad for, I like the ease of them :)

  4. I'm pretty sure bomber jackets are going to stay for a while since the 90's trends are coming back. I personally love them, they can be styled in so many ways! I don't have one myself though because I'm broke and can't afford one right now haha

  5. I picked up a bomber jacket from primark last year and it's so beautiful - It's burgandy with big massive blue flowers on and I can't wait to start wearing it again when it's a bit warmer. I think bomber jackets look great especially if they're patterned or quite loud because you can pair them with a rather minimal outfit and it'll look amazing.

  6. In my school, only two or three persons have a bomber jacket; I think this is because of this tendance comes only now in France or because of everybody will buy it this spring.. I find them cool but in my opinion, everybody will quickly have one, and as you say, it becomes unoriginal! x

    1. No way! It's weird to think that trends in England will be different to trends in France even though they're so close! x

  7. They do seem to be everywhere at the moment. I'm yet to own one but I've seen some really pretty one on Zara, they are patterned one which I think can make a simple outfit. I think they will be here to stay for a while but may fade out quickly due to the popularity of them.

    1. Zara have some great ones in recently, I think they'll just suddenly stop being popular, just like a lot of trends recently.
