the lip wardrobe: spring

Do I wear a dark lip or do I keep it nude? That's the dilemma I always find in spring so I thought I would compile my favourite spring shades together in one post seeing as I am the most indecisive person when it comes to lip products...

L'oreal lipsticks are honestly amazing and I really rate them highly, especially for the price. I've included one of the Colour Riche lipsticks (in the shade 630 and priced at £6.99) and I think it is the perfect browny nude for spring! It is quite similar to Velvet Teddy as well so if you're on the look out for a dupe I would really recommend that. The great thing about this lipstick is it is really creamy as well, so you won't be caught out with dry lips if fit gets a little colder during the spring months!

I couldn't do a lipstick post and not talk about MAC! I've included two options, a gorgeous darker pink (Mehr) and a stunning 'your lips but better' shade (Brave). I get so many compliments when I'm wearing brave and I think it is perfect for all year round - especially spring!

A bargain buy from Sephora is actually the perfect inbetween shade Marvelous Mauve, it's darker than your usual spring lip but still lighter than a plum or berry shade - I love it! It also goes so well with so many makeup looks, especially a taupey eye (here's a link to my latest makeup look).

My last lip option for spring is Nars Dolce vita. I'm sure you're all sick of me going on about this lip pencil but I love it so much! The formula is great, the shade is perfect for spring and it compliments my skin tone perfectly. I wish I bought more (although I'm sure my purse is breathing a sigh of relief). Nars are on of my favourite brands and they never fail to disappoint!

I hope you enjoyed this post and what spring lip options have you been loving lately?

  1. Thanks for the tip on the Velvet Teddy dupe. I haven't tried the Color Riche lipsticks yet but you and many others have said they're brilliant, I gotta get me some! MAC's Brave looks like a great spring shade as well.

  2. Brave is such a gorgeous shade! In Spring I tend to put my darker, harsh tones to bed and bring out the pinks and similar shades you've mentioned here. They all look so gorgeous, not at all helping with my lipcolour obsession haha. Great post hun xx

  4. I've never actually tried any L'Oreal lipsticks before, but I love the shade of the one you've included here - does look like a fab dupe for Velvet Teddy.

  16. I seriously had hearts in my eyes looking at the first picture as these are just my sort of shades - then scrolled down and realised I own almost all of them :') haha still great picks! I don't have MAC Brave or the L'Oreal shade so will definitely need to check those out as it seems we are on the same wavelength when it comes to lip colours :) xx
