Are Nars blushes worth the hype?

There is quite a lot of hype around Nars blushes - truth be told I was quite skeptical before buying the blush in Orgasm. It's a warm pink shade that from a distance is super stunning and actually has gold glitter running through it. I usually really don't like shimmery products although I was really intrigued by as it just looked so pretty on the Space Nk stand. When I swatched it my first impression was that this super pigmented, although for £23 I did have to think before purchasing. Was I going to love this product as much as other people loved it?

Just over a week later and I've worn this blush nearly every day. Admittedly one of the reasons why I've worn it this much is because I'm trialing it out but I wouldn't wear it if I didn't really like it. Despite being skeptical about the glitter it's not as glittery on the skin as it is in the pan. The sheen it gives off is actually really nice and I think it would suit all skin tones - it's an all round shade. It gives a really flattering look on the skin. The downside to this product though is if you try to build it up you get more 'gold shimmer' opposed to 'rosy glow'; it's also not the easiest product to build up, in fact you can't really at all. So if you don't want to cake on the blush the Nars blushes may be perfect for you.

Overall thoughts?  4/5 stars
I love this product although £23 is quite a lot on a blush that I might not use everyday. For me it's a great 'treat yo' self' product and I do really like the formula of this - the shade isn't really one that you can find a drugstore dupe of either (although if you have I'd love to know). Will I buy any more Nars blushes and are they worth the hype? I don't usually buy blush but I would say this is one of my favourite formulas I have found so if I do want to buy another blush I will definitely consider Nars! I do think it's worth the hype although it is quite expensive for the amount of product you get. Have you tried any Nars blushes and if so what are your thoughts?

  1. I actually have Nars highlighting blushes (aka highlighters..) and think they're awesome but honestly, I think there are some really good drugstore blushes around, Milani, Rosie For Autograph, Kiko etc and some truly amazing high end guys like Chanel/Dior/Guerlain etc that Nars is this kind of off half way house that I forget about! I'll have to go and reswatch some of their blushes again!

    1. Nars blushes have some gorgeous shades although they are pricey when there are some cheaper (still as good quality) alternatives! xx

  3. I do love Nars blushes, though saying that there are cheaper ones I do too. I have a Sleek blush called Rose Gold that's pretty much identical to Orgasm - if only I'd realised beforehand haha xx

    1. No way! I probably should have seen if there were any dupes before I bought it but I just saw it and thought it was gorgeous haha xx

  4. It's always great to treat yourself to a more expensive item once in a while! I've been after this blush for a while, but as Jasmine mentioned above, I also own the Sleek - Rose Gold blush and it's a great dupe for Nars - Orgasm. So maybe I won't be making a splurge on this blush haha. Great post x

  5. Although some of the drugstore blushers are VERY similar in gorgeousness, owning a nars blush makes applying makeup a whole lot more luxurious and I like how finely milled the powder is. Mine always lasts over a year so I've only bought 2 in 3 years!

  6. 23 pounds is a LOT of money but NARS is worth it. I absolutely love their blushes, and how gorgeous they look. Even if the names are rather...unique hahaha <3

  7. I've always thought the Nars Blushes are so pretty, but because of the price I've never bought one. But I love the review.

  9. This is so interesting. I've always heard great things but can't justify the price, despite wanting to! I might have to take the plunge x
